General AI is generally fine, but a new study shows that for SEO problems you should get a specialist.

General AI is pretty good at SEO when the evidence is obvious. The trouble starts when it isn’t. In iPullRank’s WARRANT-SEO benchmark, 27 models got the diagnosis right 99% of the time when they were given the decisive piece of evidence. Remove that one fact, and the models correctly said there wasn’t enough information only 51.5% of the time. The rest of the time, they made up the answer.

That’s the part worth remembering. Knowing SEO concepts isn’t the same as knowing whether the evidence supports a diagnosis. Some models gave the same unsupported answer over and over across identical prompts. That can feel reassuring if you’re looking for confirmation, but it’s really just the same bad call repeated with confidence.
